Marguerite’s Place Vision
At Marguerite’s Place we will provide a continuum of supports to women and their children, including the full range of services currently offered at the St. John’s Women’s Centre.
Flexible programming will be delivered, to residents living on-site and also to women in the wider community, within an independent living philosophy and in a manner that respects the diverse experiences and needs of individual women.
This initiative is designed to foster an atmosphere of care, support and respect between residents, staff and volunteers. We recognize the right of individuals to self-determination and aim to assist women in recognizing and developing their personal strengths and potential. Services are offered in an anti-oppressive, client-centered, non-judgmental environment.
The supportive housing units on-site will be open to women over the age of thirty who are not accompanied by dependants, and who are experiencing difficulty finding or maintaining housing due to circumstances in their lives or the complexity of their needs.
