About the St. John’s Women's Centre
Information and Support for Women
The Women's Centre is a non-profit charitable organization that serves women in St. John's and the Avalon Region. We offer a safe and comfortable space where women can meet one another and receive information and support.
Housing, Self-Empowerment for Women
The St. John's Women's Centre is a project of the St. John's Status of Women Council. As a forerunner in providing women-centred services, including housing, self-empowerment, and capacity-building initiatives, we have much experience in working with women who have been marginalized, including those at risk of homelessness. The St. John's Women's Centre offers a full list of our programs & services. You can also volunteer for St. John's Women's Centre.
Board of Directors
The St. John’s Women’s Centre Inc. and the St. John’s Status of Women Council (SJSWC) and the are two separate organizations. Both of these organizations are housed in the same facility, however each has its own Board of Directors.
Charitable Contributions
As a charitable organization, the centre relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses to help us help others. Donations to the Women's Centre will go directly towards helping women in need. We will issue tax receipts for monetary and in-kind donations.
